The influenza pandemic in 2009. I had to use all my knowledge and skills to control the situation.

In 2008, when the Ministry of Health of Belarus joined the project.

The most interesting and important aspect of the project is that it gives an opportunity to communicate with colleagues from various countries, to share experiences and to learn from each other.

Unification of knowledge, skills and experience of all specialists from the countries of the Barents and Baltic Sea region who are involved in surveillance of infectious diseases. Thus, the project contributes to improved health care and better health of the people living in these countries.

What is your favourite book and why?
It is rather difficult to choose one book. I like reading different sorts of books: historical novels, ironic crime fiction, classical and scientific literature.

Aside from your professional career, what is your greatest ambition in life?
Spiritual self-perfection.

What would be your wishes for the younger colleagues in the field of epidemiology?
Epidemiology is a very interesting field of studies. That is why you should read more, and more, and more. You should not be afraid of any experiments. It is also very useful to participate in epidemiological investigations.
